Don’t Skrimp out on our new shrimp selection!

These invertebrates are a staple choice to add to your aquarium for many reasons. Shrimp like to eat excess food that your fish miss, which would’ve added pollution to your water. They are super entertaining because they are almost always active. Lastly, my favorite reason, is that shrimp help keep aquariums clean by eating algae!

Isopod of the Week 05/01/2025

Isopod of the Week 05/01/2025

New BOGO isopod!
This week’s buy one, get one free deal on ONE select species is the Yellow Zebra isopods. You can expect to find this species under wood or leaves, in addition to seeing them occasionally strolling out and about. It can take a little while for these pill bugs to kick off a large colony compared to other species, although they can keep a good consistent number after they begin breeding. We find they prefer to hang out under cork bark, so providing multiple cork spots is vital to encourage comfortability and safe breeding environments. Maintaining moisture in the soil is also a key factor to their population in our experience. They have not been one to particularly thrive for us when they experience dryness, but they do wonderful in damp soil with zero to no die-off.
Being this is a new program for us, we may have to limit how many BOGO deals we do on less populated/slow reproducing colonies, so seize the opportunity when you can!
This isopod will be available with the BOGO deal from 05/1/2025 – 05/8/2025

Isopod of the Week 04/17/2025

Isopod of the Week 04/17/2025

New BOGO isopod!

This week’s buy one, get one free deal on ONE select species are the wonderous wild-type isopods (Armadillidium vulgare and Armadillidium nasatum). Activity-wise, these species love to walk around and explore, but you can commonly find the Nasatums taking naps out in the open more than the Peraccae. They are very outgoing, and tend to maintain a steady population in breeding seasons. Their ability to adapt and blend in with their natural habitat makes these a great species for reptiles that tend to eat their isopod brethren.

As this is a new program for us, we may have to limit the number of BOGO deals we offer on less populated/slow-reproducing colonies, so seize the opportunity when you can!

This isopod will be available with the BOGO deal from 04/17/2025 – 04/23/2025
