Is that Dory!? Well…not quite. The Orange Belly Blue Tang is a different color variation from the popular Blue (Hippo) Tang. As it matures it gets a wonderful orange belly. Below is a snapshot of our juvenile specimen and a more mature relative we have, the Yellow Belly Blue Tang, which gets a more yellow belly. Full list of saltwater arrivals below.

This Saltwater Saturday we’re playing peek-a-boo with one of our new arrivals, the Regal Angelfish! This stunning fish gets to be about 10 inches and is best in an established aquarium, ideally as the first fish so they can establish themselves before having to compete with others. Saltwater Saturday special feature: the Purple Queen Anthias! With these colors, the name is self-explanatory. 🙌 These fish can be finicky eaters, but the ones we have received are already eating frozen shrimp! If you ever get one that is being picky, with a start of copepods, live baby brine shrimp, and some patience a transition to frozen or pellet food is possible. They’ll be well worth the work! This week’s saltwater arrivals are electric! Literally. As can be seen below, the Electric Flame Scallop shoots bright blue-white electricity across its mantel, creating quite the light show. It is thought that this fascinating trait is to help draw in its primary food, plankton. It may also be used as a warning to predators. Full list of saltwater arrivals below.
