Searching for something unique to add to your freshwater community tank? Look no further, because Bamboo Shrimp are back! These larger sized shrimp are fascinating to watch as they extend their appendages to filter out food from the water. This makes having some water flow beneficial for keeping these funny fellas. Check out the rest of our freshwater newcomers below!

Are you a LARGE or small pufferfish connoisseur? Puffers are some of our favorite fish, with their cute features (is it us or do some have puppy faces!?), quirky personalities, and of course that unique body shape. This week we received one of the world’s smallest puffers–the Dwarf Pea Puffer (~1.5″ max size)–as well as a larger but more medium size puffer, the Mekong River Puffer (~4″ max size). While Dwarf Pea Puffers tend to work in a community tank (albeit they can still be feisty), the Mekong River Puffer commonly needs to be housed alone. One of the best things about Pea Puffers? Watching them slurp up bloodworms like spaghetti! Comparatively, the bigger puffers are fun to watch chomp down on clam shells with their sharp beaks.
Check out our other freshwater arrivals below.

Our freshwater arrivals are so excited about New Fish Friday, they laid eggs!Which one of these Cory Catfish do you think are the parents?Full list of arrivals below.
As shown here, some fish produce adhesive eggs that will stick to plant-life and rocks. This helps protect the eggs by keeping them in place, often in good hiding places! One of the biggest threats to eggs besides hungry tankmates? Fungus! Separating eggs from hungry tankmates and keeping pristine water conditions are two key components of fish egg care.
