Saltwater Saturday fun fact: hawkfish have large, skinless pectoral fins that allow them to perch on fire coral without being harmed by the coral’s stinging cells–they use this advantage to perch high up on the reef and keep watch over their surroundings like hawks, hence their peculiar name!
