Saltwater Saturday 11/18/2023

100 Blue Leg Hermit Crabs in this week’s order!

Blue Leg and Red Leg Hermit Crabs are flying out of our aquariums. They are popular due to their low cost, proficient ability to clean off algae in tight spaces, and their small size. All around, these are some of the most used invertebrates in saltwater aquariums besides Peppermint Shrimp.

Saltwater Saturday 10/21/2023

This Fire Cleaner Shrimp is checking for cavities.
They help fish by removing the access food, dead tissues, and parasites. These invertebrates are also helpful to Moray Eels! The eels will open their mouths for the shrimp to climb in to clean out all the crevasses and possible parasites. Some Fire Cleaner Shrimp like to be handfed on top of eating the extra food that falls to the bottom of your aquarium.

Saltwater Saturday 10/14/2023

This is a Decorator Crab. They survive by taking objects such as anemones, corals, and sponges for camouflage. They use their Velcro-like bristles called setae to attach the objects to their upper shell . If you look closely, you can see his tiny eyeballs sticking out from all the décor. New crabs, gobies, and hawkfish are available.
There is quite a variety in this week’s newest Saltwater Saturday shipment. Our personal favorite is the Yellow Clown Goby due to its size, hardiness, and peaceful nature. We’re also in love with this cute Platinum Percula SA Frostbite Clownfish Pair, who never leave each other’s side. We also have a few different types of starfish available from previous saltwater shipments.

This week we want to feature our favorite new and old arrivals. Starting off strong here’s an adorable Sand Sifting Cucumber! Just look at those tiny little soft spines along its body. Then we have an awesome picture of our social Kleini Butterfly. Thirdly we have a Sea Hare, which is equivalent to an underwater slug.
